Myopia

Filed under: Modern Errors,New Stuff — Renovo @ 8:15 pm

Can a scientist be a Catholic? Do intelligence and the Catholic religion exclude one another?
Since our Creator is all-knowing, intelligence and the Catholic Faith are much more aligned than any knowledge of man. It is only their folly that we should see in the “Intelligentsia”, not intelligence. They are much like an adolescent who learns a little and becomes “smarter” than his parents.

When a man whose soul was created to love God, stops loving God, or never has loved God, there is a tremendous void that needs to be filled. An “enlightened” person, therefore, will fill the void with a protestant version of God, or with a tree, whale, owl, or with “nature,” or Mother Earth, or GIA. Or perhaps social justice, feeding the poor, philanthropy, or some other “natural” good.

The body of man is very much in revolt against the spirit and wants to be like the animals. A faithless being gives himself over to these lower desires and becomes rabid in defending his fallen state. The very last thing he wants to feel welling up is his spirit is the nagging of his conscience. He must bury those feelings with any form of distraction. Modern music, television, movies, and the internet satisfies this by offering a constant cacophony to drown out the thought of pleasing God and dwelling on things that are holy.

He must associate with others that think the same way, and he must convince those that do not. Those that remain otherwise are to be shunned, ridiculed, and persecuted. In his thoughts he must rationalize this worldly state, if only that he can sleep at night. But his thinking is false and therefore flawed, which shows, therefore, that by adhering to it he is not intelligent at all. He has taken natural truths and concocted a story that is sufficient to deceive himself and others, so that the primary goal of Godlessness is attained. Once God is removed (or sufficiently watered down), guilt is removed. His body can continue to be like an animal, and he can also sleep at night.

But if there is no God, how can life form? By itself? And not only human life, but plant life and animal life, and within these many different mechanisms of life.

They try to explain the complexity of life. But consider not only hearing with an ear and seeing with an eye which would be amazing occurrences all by themselves. But also the development of infrared vision used by reptiles and ultraviolet vision used by birds, and echo-location used by bats, sonar location used by dolphins and whales, and magnetic field GPS navigation also used by birds. And of all the varieties of plants that we can happen to see, smell, and eat (without which there would be no animal life), do those poor souls really think that this all just happened by itself? It is preposterous to propose this let alone believe it, because the chance of all of this happening without God are impossible even within the billions of years that they allow themselves. Nevertheless as hard as it is to imagine, their answer must be “yes,” otherwise their house-of-cards will come crashing down and their bodies may have to obey the Will of God and the Holy Catholic Church. So many signs of the majesty of God’s creation are before them, but they myopically focus on their theories and “evidence,” that cements their lives of pleasure and “liberty”.

These “scientists” have created a complicated (as any falsehood must be) but arguable theory that allows them to be the way that their lower nature wants them to be: subject to no one but themselves and their desires. They can defend it and believe it, because in their clouded and biased judgment they have convinced (rather, deceived) themselves and rationalized that it is true.

A modern scientist may occasionally give a guilty nod or lip-service to God, but he believes his “facts.” It is for those of us who have the greater wisdom to realize that all things of God are true, and to believe all that we have been taught by the Catholic Church as fact, even if we cannot understand it. We can give a nod to the sciences that we find interesting, but in the end, all true science conforms to God and to the teachings of the Catholic Church and we must as well.

Here are two examples of the folly of man and the Truth of God and His Church:

1. The Church taught that the Earth is the center of the universe. Science came along and “proved” that the Earth isn’t even the center of our solar system. This is what the wicked were waiting for: “proof” that the Catholic Church was wrong, and if it could be wrong about that, then it could be wrong about God and what He wants us to do. Unfortunately for these poor souls, the Earth really is the center of the universe. They were thinking (blindly) that it was a geometric truth, when in fact it is a focus truth: Since God’s focus is on us, we are the center of the entire universe.

2. Creation occurred about ~8,000 years ago according to the Bible, the inspired word of God as taught by the Church. Modern science says it must have happened billions of years ago. They “know” because they have tested the rocks, and they have fossils that they have “proven” are millions of years old. A Modern person believes these “facts” and loses his Faith. To him it appears that God and His Church have deceived us by telling us the world is only 8,000 years old. This is what modernists would believe and strive to convince everyone else to believe. A faithful Catholic believes his Faith and either ponders or ignores the “facts” that appear to be in conflict with it. God cannot deceive, but He allows deception to protect Free Will. There are no dinosaur bones; there are rocks that are in the shape of dinosaur bones. Satan, the Great Deceiver and Prince of Lies, is only too eager to place deceptions before the wicked so that they can remain wicked. Would anyone say that Satan is powerless to fashion a stone to appear like a bone?

“And in all seduction of iniquity to them that perish; because they receive not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. Therefore God shall send them the operation of error, to believe lying: That all may be judged who have not believed the truth, but have consented to iniquity.”
2 Thessalonians 2:10-11

True Wisdom is to believe in God and only the things of man that are aligned with Him and His Church. Have Catholic Faith, believe and obey.Comments (0)

Count Your Blessings

Filed under: New Stuff — Renovo @ 8:06 am

Matthew 6:19-21
“Lay not up to yourselves treasures on earth: …But lay up to yourselves treasures in heaven: …For where thy treasure is, there is thy heart also.”

“God Bless America”
“God Bless you”
“Bless us O Lord”

Blessings are invoked all of the time. Those of good-will (and sometimes others) will ask God to bestow blessings upon them or their families or their friends. It is very safe to say that good health, peace and prosperity, long life, emotional well-being, comfort, and love are the typical blessings that are sought after. You can say that this is human nature and very typical to want a portion or all of the “Hollywood” lifestyle but you cannot say that it is very Catholic. If you look at these requests with Catholic-lenses you will notice that they are not particularly conducive to Heaven and are really rather short-sighted and selfish, seeking rewards while here on Earth, instead of where rewards should be sought after.

Blessings are all of the the gifts from God and God gives His Gifts very generously. Everyday each of us may receive many hundreds without even realizing them. As a loving Father, God gives to us what we truly need and not necessarily what we request. Without exception we receive by His Providence that which tends to our Salvation, which is our greatest good thing that we could hope for. Unfortunately too often we hope for less.

At times God does give us pleasant gifts. But the blessings that we really need are our trials and crosses, and because of His Love these are the ones that God gives us the most. As the Little Flower recognized, many times a day opportunities are placed before us that allow us to merit Heaven. Difficulties, adversities and humilities help keep us from wandering astray; as we would certainly do without them. The gifts that we tend to ask for would make us comfortable, successful and popular; but the proud and prosperous are not blessed. By the Grace of God we are protected from these “successes” that would drag us to Hell. So we should thank God and Bless Him for His Love and Protection, recognizing the many blessings that He does send us. One only need look to His Son and to His Saints to see that He sends the most crosses to those He loves the most. And many times it is the abandoned reprobate that have the “good fortunes” that we so often seek here on Earth.

Strive for Heaven and for less time in Purgatory and be thankful when you receive the blessings from God that enable both of these.Comments (0)

The Key to being Brilliant

Luke 1:17
“that he may turn the hearts of the fathers unto the children, and the incredulous to the wisdom of the just, to prepare unto the Lord a perfect people.”

Intelligence is realizing what is true and good (and adhering to it) and what is false and bad (and rejecting it). The key to eternity is to recognize that we are all mistaken regarding what we think we know and the decisions that we make. When we are truly wise we will realize that our knowledge and understanding is false and bad and we will reject it. We will also seek out what is true and good and we will embrace it. It is with this humble attitude then that we will truly be intelligent and profit eternally.

Nearly all of the time we do harmful things to ourselves and others by our actions. We fail to consider all of the short term and long term ramifications that pertain to ourselves and others that we know, and to our society overall. Our thoughts and decisions are influenced negatively by our desires, external allurements, people we know and meet, and our culture in general. By our fallen nature and with the current state of society, it is very safe to say with respect to the grand scheme of things, that almost none of our decisions are good. So often we see the bad fruit of our choices but due to prideful self-love, we deny the blame and deflect it elsewhere.

Our flawed thinking can be more evident when we factor in the motivations of our decisions and how they neglect the Glory of God, our love for Him, and our love of others for His sake. By the effects of original sin and of the conditioning of our modern times, very few people these days have well-ordered thinking. If you struggle with any part of this message you should not presume that you are one of these. Due to paganism (the false understanding of God) or indifference, this world we live in is a very evil place. We are all so much the products of this world, and the wrong-mindedness is so espoused, that we should not wonder very long how this can be so true. We need to stop deceiving ourselves into thinking that we are OK, for we are not. Most of us are not even close.

Many times we commit mortal sins of infinite offense to God and we do so with intention, or by culpable ignorance. Many more times a day we offend God venially and for lack of care we may not even realize it. These “minor” venial offenses are actually extremely large (although not infinite) when considered against the Majesty that they detract from and they attest to the magnitude of the Mercy of God that He has for His undeserving creatures.

We must also recognize that it is because of our decisions that we may merit eternal damnation for ourselves or help others to their eternal destruction. This fact alone should be enough motivation to prevent us from making any decisions at all without fear and trembling.

Taking this all into consideration we must stop making decisions for ourselves and for others without first obtaining good counsel. We should in humility consider ourselves incapable and defer all of our choices to those who love us as God loves us. We should make it our passion to seek out these people and the timeless Catholic Church for guidance. We must cease in promoting our vain opinions that are baseless in Truth being based instead on our corrupt perceptions, flawed reason, our wicked pride, and self-love. We must stop thinking so highly of ourselves if we wish to rise in virtue. In truth, the only things that we can really take credit for are our sins.

To be brilliant we defer all of our judgment to God as He has revealed to us through His Church. We must strive to know everything that pleases God, as it pertains to us. We must reject our will and our understanding and conform our will’s to God’s. We must submit our actions to the teachings of His Church in all things that we do, not regarding the consequences that we may suffer in this temporal world for the right choices that we make. We must do the correct things, the right things, and make the right decisions, with the right attitude, for God’s sake and our love for Him.Comments (0)

…to every good work reprobate.

Titus 1:16
“They profess that they know God: but in their works they deny him; being abominable, and incredulous, and to every good work reprobate.”

It is the sure sign of the reprobate that they are disgusted and have a powerful aversion to the teachings of the Catholic Church. When they hear, even indirectly, of some tenet of Catholic Doctrine such as sacrifice, or obedience, or as humility, or submission, they will not be able to contain themselves, they must speak against the discomfort that wells up inside them.

What these reprobate believe, think and feel is all that matters. By the workings of this wicked society, and their own evil inclinations owing to original sin, and to the machinations of the Prince of the World, they regard themselves as the only authority necessary. They submit to only that which they themselves validate.

This need exists in them because they do not love the Truth. They love their sin more than the Truth therefore they love only their truth. Their truth allows them the freedom to do as they please to the extent that they please, constrained only by themselves, if at all. If they had loved the Truth they would have loved Jesus who is the Truth1 and they would throw themselves at the feet of His Church2 to which alone He has revealed His Truths3. For those that hear the Truth and do not believe are condemned

Instead the reprobate must assert their unholy doctrines, doctrines that are based solely on their own false sense of dignity and their love of things that displease Almighty God. They who rarely utter spiritual words will have a litany of prepared heretical exclamations. Words that they have learned and memorized to meet with such occurrences. They will demand where in the Bible it says those things that the Catholic Church teaches.

They will dodge all attempts to resolve specific arguments, and will strive for confounded stalemate. They will feel successful if they can ask sufficient unanswered questions, never intending to have them answered for then they would have to find new ones. They strive for a permanent state of doubt because then they can deceive themselves into thinking that no changes are necessary as long as the “truth” is in doubt. After all, they think to themselves, God would not want them to choose something that is doubtful. They know that there is no absolute certainty in matters of Faith, yet they deceive themselves that they do not have to move until they are certain.

In extreme cases they resort to attacks made on the individuals if they cannot attack their doctrines. They mistake (on purpose) the fallible members of the Church for the infallible Institution of the Church. “It is not what he says but how he says it”, “He does not practice what he preaches”, “If he acted such-and-such a way or said such-and-such”, etc, etc. More excuses and more self-delusion in order to remain in the same state and not to have to conform to the Holy Will of God. Like Pilate they really do know the Truth, but because of self-love, pride, and human respect they cannot bring themselves to act on the Truth. And like Pilate they condemn themselves for not loving the Truth that they know is true. For not seeking the Truth and submitting to it4.

1 every one that is of the truth, heareth my voice.

2 He that heareth you, heareth me; and he that despiseth you, despiseth me; and he that despiseth me, despiseth him that sent me.

3 But when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will teach you all truth. For he shall not speak of himself; but what things soever he shall hear, he shall speak; and the things that are to come, he shall shew you.

4 If I say the truth to you, why do you not believe me? He that is of God, heareth the words of God. Therefore you hear them not, because you are not of God.Comments (0)

Fear and Trembling

Filed under: Modern Errors — Renovo @ 8:44 pm

Think of how many people will die this day. Over 100 people in the world die every minute. How frightful it is to grasp that most will find themselves judged into the everlasting torments of Hell. How surprised and horrified these wretched souls must be! It is certain that none of them imagined that this would be their lot for all eternity. Whether they thought little of it or whether they presumed they would go to Heaven, Purgatory or nothingness, not one of these lost souls in their right mind planned to suffer excruciating agony forever. So why are so many horrified? Obviously they did not realize how much they offended and displeased God. Because they did not apply the effort necessary to know what mattered most during their life. That is what lead to the Just and Irrevocable sentence of Almighty God. It is by their own pride and presumption that they have merited everlasting suffering. They allowed themselves to be deceived, believing those things that they wanted to believe instead of what they must believe. They defined their truth to allow them to do as they wished rather than conforming their wills to the teachings of the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church alone contains the Truth and was instituted to instruct the Truth to those that would hear it. This is the Will of God. But because the wicked and prideful will not conform their wills to the Will of God, God allows them to deceive themselves and to be deceived and to remain in their iniquity. And this realization should be very sobering to us. We should not let another day or moment go by without being sure that we please God by humbling ourselves and following the teachings of the Catholic Church and never taking our salvation for granted.

So very intelligent is Satan to convince this world that there is nothing to worry about. Deceit and Distraction are the tools effectively used by the prince of this world. When we choose our will over God’s Will these are the tools that are used to help us stay that way. Distraction is so much a part of what we do that we no longer recognize it. We complain of boredom and go to the TV so that we can be engrossed and entertained. There are so many more ways that we fill our days with idleness and meaningless distractions, whether by Godless music, movies or mindless games and play. We no longer have the desire for contemplative thought; solemn time when we can reflect on things of God and how we can please Him. We allow ourselves to be distracted because it is fun and entertaining. So using the instruments of distraction Satan has convinced men to seek the pleasures of this world and never dwell on what happens after we die. If we do have an occasion to think of death Satan has dealt with that as well. He has distorted the Christian Faith to deceive those who would be deceived into believing lies, and wrecked the institutions of authority that were established to reveal the Will of God and the means of salvation.

How very evil are those who actively or passively promote the deceitful message of Satan. This message is not necessary grossly evil, in fact it is most likely wrapped in “love” and humanistic values. Lacking is the supernatural love or “charity” that teaches us to put God first in our lives, above everything else with no exception. Lacking are the things that are taught by the Catholic Faith, for by these teachings alone is salvation possible. Those that teach contrary to what has been taught by the Catholic Church for two thousand years, either by direct commission of error or by omission of truth, are doing the work of Satan. High ranking in Satan’s legion are those that undermine the Catholic Faith by passing themselves off as authorities above the Catholic Church and chief among these are those that use the name “Catholic” when in fact they are wicked modernists dwelling in formerly Catholic buildings. They instruct, or rather destruct, a large number of their flock by their errors. Most of this flock, due to this faulty instruction and their own faults and pride, do not seek to remove themselves from these errors and they become and remain deceived. They believe the lies and confirm these opinions in their heart because it allows them to remain as they are, rather than seeking the truth at the expense of their liberties.

So many have wretchedly died in this state of self-inflicted ignorance, while presuming themselves safe. Pride is what kept them from the truth, for they were smarter than the Catholic Church. Pride is what has lead them to Hell, for failing to heed admonishments of those concerned with their eternity. Pride, the Devil’s own sin, is what caused them to be surprised at that moment of death because it kept them from being fearful of their salvation and seeking the truth, and amending their lives to please God.

Death will come to you as well. Will you be surprised when you find yourself burning in unquenchable fire? Work out your salvation with fear and trembling! Do not let another moment pass before you resolve to remove yourself from the attachments of this world and to seek only those things that please Almighty God! Cease your proud convictions and recognize that you have been deceived, and that you know nothing, and that your lack of humility keeps you in that state! Beg the Blessed Mother, St. Joseph, and all the angels and saints, to intercede on your behalf for the Grace necessary to help you to know and understand the Catholic Faith, to love and embrace the Catholic Faith, and to live the Catholic Faith.Comments (0)

You have the right to remain silent

Filed under: Modern Errors — Renovo @ 8:26 pm

There are so many people, if not all, who feel that their opinion can and should be expressed. Ask them and they may even tell you that they have the “right” to do so. While this may be true in temporal matters, it certainly does not hold true when speaking of spiritual matters.

Opinions necessitate either an “I think” or  “I feel”. And when we speak about the True Faith we can only speak in terms of absolute conformity to the teachings of the Catholic Church. If we are guessing or worse if we rely on our rational thought, we will almost certainly be wrong and therefore injurious to those that hear us and to ourselves for the scandal we create.

So much of what we have been taught by society and what we have learned through non-Catholic publications and media outlets is completely at odds with Catholic Teaching. So effective has been Satan’s minions in causing good be bad and evil be good. A brief comparison can confirm this as true.

By the world’s standards:

Pursuit of pleasure is good, austerity is bad.
Pursuit of money is good, poverty is bad.
Assertiveness is good, submission is bad.
Comfort is good, suffering is bad.
Sinners are fun, saints are boring.
Tolerance of deviance is good, intolerance of deviance is bad .

The list could go on without even bringing up specific Catholic Teachings (which really seems crazy these days).

It is because of this upside down thinking that most people think that they are good, when in fact much (if not most) of what they do is not pleasing to God. An hence this is also why most people go to Hell without recognizing that that is where they are going. This is the reason that people should hold their tongues, and stifle the urge to speak their mind. They should be fearful of giving a false testament and speaking in favor of opinions that are contrary to the Will of God, confirming their erroneous thoughts to themselves and misleading themselves and others to a place outside of the Catholic Church, outside of which there is no salvation. They should instead read the lives of the Saints and amend their lives accordingly.

If you must speak, speak only of things of which you have moral certitude. That is, things that you know to be true because you were taught them by someone who has moral authority over you (A parent, husband, priest, or religious). To these teachings your will must submit. If you disagree you can go to a higher authority until you reach the universal teachings of the Church and finally the Pope, beyond which there is no earthly authority.

Never knowingly contradict Catholic Teaching at which point you would become a formal heretic (non-Catholic). The teachings of the Catholic Church are timeless as they are the same as the Divine Will of God. When the Catholic Church speaks, God speaks. If you are confused with the state of the Church, look to Tradition. If you have trouble with the tradition of the Catholic Church you should recognize yourself as dis-ordered and pray for the grace and humility to conform your understanding to God.

The Catholic Church has never contradicted Herself and could never be injurious to souls. God could never do those things, and as such He  would never allow His Church to do those things.Comments (1)
